Office Ceilings - Types
Lay-in ceilings : These ceilings offer a convenient, cost-effective system for upgrading the look and appearance of the existing ceilings. They are typically used for special purpose applications requiring maximum ceiling sound absorption.
Clip-up ceilings : Flush clip mount ceilings are the modern alternative to Lay-in ceilings and provide a clean look. Typically they are fabricated in metal and can be finished in virtually any colour to suit your design.
‘Stretchy’ceilings : Stretchy ceilings are economical, high quality, practical and safe. A frame is formed around the perimeter of the space and a flexible membrane is then ‘stretched’ within the framed area to form a smooth, clean looking surface that can be up-lit or back-lit to achieve some fantastic effects.
Stretchy ceilings tend to be maintenance-free, and they do not suffer from condensation. A huge advantage is that they will not crack, flake or peel. They provide a great alternative to suspended ceilings and can be installed easily and quickly with little disruption to your business. If necessary for any reason, they can easily be removed and reassembled to allow access to the space above.
MF ceilings : These are plasterboards fixed on to a metal or wooden frame. They can be used as they are or as a base for more decorative ceilings.
Additionally, they can be used in the following cases:
- Correction of existing crooked ceilings
- Covering of minor building structural defects
- Sound and heat insulation
- Reducing the overall height of a room
- Covering of any unsightly pipes or ventilation above the ceiling
- Covering electrical, internet, fire alarm, local network cabling without disturbing the existing walls
